OCIA Registrations are Surging in NYC.
Let’s Help Bring Them Sponsors

We’re helping bring sponsors to OCIA candidates at our NYC churches. Compared to last year, St. Joseph’s OCIA numbers have tripled. So too has enrollment at Old St. Patrick’s.

What a beautiful thing. But these candidates need guidance.

Most do not come from Christian families or have friends they can rely on, like we may have in the Catholic community here. Being an OCIA sponsor allows you to help improve your community, walk with a fellow Catholic, and gain new brothers/sisters in Christ. A small ask for a great reward.

If interested in being a sponsor at St. Joseph’s or Old St. Patrick’s, please complete the form below and we’ll get back to you with next steps.

Things to Know about Being a Sponsor

What can candidates do with their sponsor?

  • Attend Mass together, grab coffee (if you live near each other)

  • Pray together

  • Talk over questions about the faith and practicals of Catholic life and traditions

Most importantly: The Easter Vigil or Divine Mercy Sunday Mass (including the rehearsal)
